The fights at Froggy's on Ft. Campbell was a great success. All our fighters did well with Karl Willis beating James Chico Davis for the XFL 170 title and Anthony Stevens beating Gerric Hayes to retain his XFL HW title.
We sad to annouce that the Ybarra family is moving away to NC. They have been a great asset to SSF and good friends to all of us. They will be missed.

SSF Submission Academy came in 4th in the Kids/Teen division! Not bad since we only took 8 kids with us. Next year we will win the team trophy.

SSF took 8 kids down to NAGA Nationals in GA and came away with 6-1st place, 4-2nd place and 3-3rd place finishes! Way to go SSF Kids!

The SSF kids, supported by the SSF Fighter Moms and Dads, and led by Erica Schwalm fought this weekend at the Rumble on the River MartialArts Tournament in TN. The youngest fighter of the team (6 years) made her (yes she is a female) second appearance on the mat (fighting in the submission category as well) and this time left with a first place trophy after submitting a boy 2 years older via rear naked choke…way togo Taylor! Following Taylor’s win the 8-10 year old boys (CJ, Oscar,and Tyler) went to the mat and captured 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place trophies respectively for the team. Rounding out the team this time was Cody who fought in the 13-14 year old division. In what could haveeasily been labeled as a street fight had it not been on the mat, Cody met the challenge head on. Dominating his first opponent with pure technique against wrestling muscle, Cody would win a unanimous decision by the three judges and move on to the finals. During the finals Cody would deny the judges a decision by again dominating his opponent, but this time submitting his opponent with a key lock and forcing the tap which earned him 1st place for the division. This tournament was considered a warm-up for most of these kids as they get ready for the North American Grappling Association (N.A.G.A.) Nationals to be held in Georgia in May where some of them will be competing for top honors at the expert level categories. GO SSF KIDS!!!

Derek Grace won his fight last night in Bowling Green KY. He retains his KFC HW title for 3rd time. Derek won the fight in 1 min 10sec of the first round via ref stoppage due to strikes.

Our new TV show MMA Contender starts filming this Thursday 3/13/08. Please make sure you are here for Karl's boxing class which starts at 7pm. We will be filming the boxing classes over the next few weeks. You will end up on tv so be prepared to work hard!

It was another big day for SSF! Derek Lehmann won the XFL LHW title to go along with his XFL HW title. Karl Willis won his fight as well at Froggy's on Ft. Campball.
WEC and SSF sponsored fighter Brendan Sequin won a 185lbs tourney in IN.

SSF managed and sponsored fighter Brad Morris signed a 4 fight contract with the UFC. He will be fighting on UFC 83 in Montreal Canada! Congrats Brad. Ron Dayley will be cornering him for this fight.
